Business & finance courses
Popular choiceBeginner friendlyTake this project management course online and learn to run a project the way UK organisations do, from the sponsor's first email to the closure report. On one realistic case study you'll write the business case and the PID, find the critical path by hand and in ProjectLibre, keep a RAID log people act on, run sprints in Jira and give a sponsor bad news early, with options. You finish with a project file you can walk any interviewer through.
Course overview
This course takes you through one project from start to finish: a group of physiotherapy clinics moving from phone and paper bookings to an online system. You define it, plan it, cost it, deliver part of it in sprints and close it, in the order the work really happens. Then you do it all again on a capstone brief you choose, setback included.
By the end you can turn a vague request into a plan a sponsor signs, defend your dates and budget, keep risks and scope under control and report the truth in time. It suits anyone handed a project with no training, coordinators who want the whole picture and career changers aiming at project roles. You don't need any project experience.

Career outcomes
Every kind of organisation runs projects, from NHS trusts to agencies, and someone has to steer them. The certificate opens the conversation, and the project file you walk an interviewer through, PID and all, shows you can.

If you only need to organise your own tasks, a free to-do app will do for now. If you'd rather work out what a system should do than steer its delivery, take Business Analysis instead. If managing people is the real challenge, start with Leadership & People Management. And if your team already runs on monday.com, Project Management Using Monday gets you set up faster.
A course advisor will talk it through with you free, and will say so if a different course fits your goal better.
Good to know
One realistic project from start to finish, then one of your own. On the clinics' move to online booking you write the business case, map stakeholders and set up governance, settle the scope, estimate and find the critical path, schedule it in ProjectLibre, manage risks and change, set the budget, deliver the booking website in Jira sprints, report to the sponsor and take it through go-live and closure. The capstone repeats the whole job on a brief you choose.
Yes. You don't need any project experience, just the comfort to type data and simple formulas such as SUM. If you've run projects informally, you'll recognise plenty and finally get the names, the documents and the tools for it.
Both, and how they fit together. You plan the clinic project with a business case, stages and a critical path, then deliver the booking website in Scrum sprints in Jira and keep those sprints tied to the milestones in the wider plan. You finish able to justify which approach suits each part of a project.
No. Every tool is free: Excel for the web or Google Sheets, ProjectLibre for scheduling, Jira's free plan for sprints and a free AI assistant. ProjectLibre closely mirrors Microsoft Project, so what you learn carries straight over if your employer uses it.
Project Management if you want to steer delivery: the plan, the budget, the risks and the sponsor. Business Analysis if you'd rather work out what a process or system should do and write the requirements that get it built. The two roles work side by side, and the courses are designed to fit together.
No. You practise every step on the clinic case study, so you're never short of a project. For the capstone you choose a brief, such as an office move, a town festival or a system switch, or use a project from your own work with the details anonymised.
A Windows, Mac or Linux computer, which is what ProjectLibre, the free scheduling software, runs on. On a Chromebook or a tablet, your spreadsheet Gantt chart carries you through the scheduling work instead.
Yes. Pass the final assessment and you get an OBA certificate of completion that an employer can verify online. It isn't an accredited qualification such as PRINCE2, APM or PMP, and it isn't exam preparation for them. The course explains each of those routes so you can choose your next step, and the project file you build is the other half of the proof.
