Course overview
This course takes you from opening Premiere Pro for the first time to compositing a building into a landscape. Eleven modules and about fifty hours: the first six are the craft of editing, and the last five are grading, sound design, transitions and effects, in the order you need them.
By the end you can cut a sequence, mix the audio, grade the colour, build titles and export without guessing at a single setting, and you know which of the thirty-odd effects in the last module a given piece actually wants. Whether you edit for work, for study or for your own channel, you finish with the craft to make what you can already picture.

If you are not ready for a paid subscription, take DaVinci Resolve instead: the free version is genuinely capable and the editing craft transfers. And if you only make short social clips, CapCut may be all you need.

Good to know
Eleven modules, 172 lessons and about 50 hours of video. Lessons come with three to eight paragraphs of written notes and a key-takeaways panel, and 123 of them carry an interactive step. There are eleven checkpoints of eight questions and a final assessment of twenty questions at 80 per cent, which is what issues the certificate.
Not for the certificate. Modules 7, 8 and 11 use After Effects for tracking, rotoscoping and 3D work and Photoshop for compositing, because those jobs are quicker there. Everything assessed can be done in Premiere Pro alone, so a single-app plan gets you the certificate, and a plan with all three lets you follow every lesson.
Premiere Pro is a paid Adobe subscription with a free trial, and the trial is enough to start the course. If the cost is a blocker, our DaVinci Resolve course teaches editing in a free tool.
Premiere Pro if you will work with teams and clients who use Adobe. Resolve if you want a free tool with professional depth. The craft you learn transfers between them.
Yes, your own clips or free stock. The lessons point you to the free sources they use, including Pexels and Pixabay for clips and music and free sound libraries for effects, so following along costs nothing beyond the Adobe subscription. Editing material you chose is closer to real work anyway.
A reasonably modern computer is fine for most of the course, and the later effects lessons stack enough layers to make any machine work hard. The course covers the answers as it goes: proxies for footage your machine cannot play, lower playback resolution, and rendering a range before you judge it.
Yes. Pass the twenty-question final assessment at 80 per cent and you get an OBA certificate of completion that an employer can verify online. It isn't an Adobe certification exam. The edits you finish along the way are the other half of the proof.
