Design & media courses
Beginner friendlyThis CapCut course teaches you to make short videos that give people a reason to keep watching. You open every video on a hook, cut to the beat, caption so it reads on a phone and hand the tedious jobs to CapCut's AI, on desktop and on your phone, then finish a children's story, a horror edit and a music video of your own.
Course overview
This course takes you from importing your first clip to three finished portfolio pieces. Nine modules and about 8 hours: the core tools and a complete short-form video first, then mobile editing, AI tools and captions, keyframes, green screen and blending, a cinematic horror edit, a review of your workflow and three final projects.
By the end you can plan a video around one idea, cut it to the music, write captions and calls to action that stay readable, mix voice over music and export the right shape for each platform. Whether you post for yourself, your business or your clients, you finish with edits that look deliberate rather than rushed.

Career outcomes
Clients and employers judge short video on what they can watch, not on what you say you can do. The certificate backs you up, and the videos you finish win the work.

If you cut long YouTube videos or client work, CapCut will start to pinch: take Adobe Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve if you'd rather not pay a subscription. If you want a full desktop editor that's still quick to learn, Filmora sits in between. And if growing an audience matters more to you than the edit, Social Media Marketing covers the strategy side.
A course advisor will talk it through with you free, and will say so if a different course fits your goal better.
Good to know
Nine modules, 72 lessons and about 8 hours of video. Every lesson carries a written summary, notes and a key-takeaways panel, half carry an interactive step, and there are nine checkpoints of eight questions and a final assessment of twenty questions at 80 per cent, which is what issues the certificate. It ends with three portfolio projects: a narrated children's story, a horror edit and a music video.
Both. The course shows the desktop version for precision and the phone app for speed, and the skills carry between them. You need a Mac or Windows computer for the desktop lessons and a phone for the mobile ones.
There's a free version, so you can start the course without paying for CapCut. Some effects and tools are paid, marked with a small diamond, and the AI features use credits that can run out.
CapCut for fast, frequent short-form video. Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve for long-form and heavier client work, where a full editor earns its keep. The Video Production Bundle puts CapCut together with Premiere Pro and After Effects if you want both.
Yes, your own clips or CapCut's free stock library, and footage you shot yourself makes the best practice.
Yes. Module 1 starts with what CapCut is for, creating a project and importing footage, and you export your first finished video before the module ends. The lessons are short, so it's easy to fit round work.
Editing is half the picture. This course makes your videos sharper and quicker to produce, and our Social Media Marketing course covers the strategy, planning and growth side.
Yes. Pass the twenty-question final assessment at 80 per cent and you get an OBA certificate of completion that an employer or client can verify online. It isn't a qualification from CapCut. The videos you finish are the more persuasive half of the pitch.
