Course overview
Eight modules and about 22 hours of video, in three parts. Modules 1 to 3 refresh the HTML and CSS a web app relies on and build a front end with them. Modules 4 and 5 give that front end a Flask back end with real accounts and a database, and modules 6 to 8 turn to algorithms and complexity, then NumPy and pandas.
By the end you can build and secure a small web application, say how fast your code will run before it runs, and clean, group, pivot and chart a real dataset. It suits self-taught coders, analysts and career changers who already write working Python and want finished work to show for it, and anyone preparing for interviews that ask about complexity and sorting.

Eight modules, 106 lessons and about 22 hours of video, with written notes and key takeaways under every lesson and an interactive question on 62 of them. There are eight checkpoints of eight questions and a twenty-question final assessment at 80 per cent, which is what issues the certificate. In order, the modules are an HTML refresher, a CSS refresher, a front-end project, Flask, a full-stack Flask application, algorithms and complexity, NumPy, and pandas with Seaborn.

Because a Flask app serves web pages. Modules 1 and 2 refresh the HTML and CSS it relies on, and module 3 builds the front end your Flask back end brings to life in module 5, with accounts, a database and a working buy button. If you know both already, treat it as a refresher: the page you build in module 3 is the one your app runs on.
No. Python, Flask, SQLite, NumPy, pandas and Seaborn are all free, and nothing in the course needs an account with anybody. The Flask email lesson sends through a Gmail account, which you can watch without setting one up.
Advanced Python if you want to build web applications and reason about algorithms as well as analyse data: Flask takes two modules and pandas one. Data Analysis with Python if data is the whole goal, because it spends all its time there.
Material that's free and quick to find. Any square image works for the logo, favicon and infographic in the front-end project, and the pandas lessons use the Titanic passenger list and an air-quality file, both freely available online.
Three things: building web applications with Flask, reasoning about algorithms and how they scale, and analysing data with NumPy and pandas. Your app stores its users and products with SQLAlchemy and SQLite, and the OBA Certificate in SQL takes databases further. Testing, packaging, type hints, asynchronous code and APIs sit outside its scope.
Yes. Pass the twenty-question final assessment at 80 per cent and you get the OBA Advanced Certificate in Python Programming, a certificate of completion an employer can verify online. It isn't an accredited qualification or a certification exam. The app, the algorithms and the analysis you finish along the way are the other half of the proof.
