Good to know
The prompting itself transfers: context, roles, output formats and iterating on a weak answer work the same way in ChatGPT, Claude and the rest. The course is taught in ChatGPT throughout, and the later modules on custom GPTs and the OpenAI API are specific to it.
We think it is like searching was when the web was young: invisible to people who have it, baffling to people who do not. Better prompts get you better answers in less time, whatever your job.
Not for the prompting itself, which is most of the course and works on a free tier. Some later lessons demonstrate features that need a paid plan or, for the automation module, prepaid API credit, and which of those sits behind which plan changes often. You can follow those lessons without doing them, and everything they teach about structuring a prompt still applies.
Better, but never guaranteed. Good prompts raise the quality of answers; they do not remove the need to check them. The research module covers this directly, including how to tell whether an answer actually used a source and why a confident citation is not a verified one.
