Digital marketing courses
Beginner friendlyThis email marketing course teaches you to build the one channel no algorithm can take away. You'll grow a list lawfully under UK GDPR and PECR, write emails people open and act on, get them into the inbox rather than spam, and build welcome, abandoned basket and post-purchase flows in Klaviyo that keep selling long after you press send.
Course overview
This course builds a complete email programme for a fictional houseplant shop, in Klaviyo connected to a free Shopify development store. It starts with the law and a list people chose to join, then moves through writing, design, deliverability, segments and the UK calendar, into lifecycle flows and fair testing, and finishes with a programme of your own, built from audit to launch.
By the end you can grow a list with consent you can prove, write a newsletter people look forward to, work out why an email landed in spam and build flows that earn while you get on with everything else. Whether you've inherited the newsletter, run an online shop or want a first email or CRM role, you finish with working flows to prove it.

If you're new to marketing altogether, start with Digital Marketing, which shows how email fits with ads, SEO and social. If your bigger problem is getting people to your sign-up form in the first place, Social Media Marketing or SEO will bring them there. And if you already run email well and want sharper reporting across every channel, Marketing Analytics comes next.
A course advisor will talk it through with you free, and will say so if a different course fits your goal better.
Good to know
A whole email programme, from the first sign-up to flows that run on their own. You start with setup and the law, then grow a list, write emails people act on, design them for every inbox and get them past the spam filters. After that come segments and a campaign calendar, welcome, abandoned basket and post-purchase flows, testing and reporting, and a capstone programme for a brand of your choice.
Covered properly, and early. You'll learn who you can email under UK GDPR and PECR, how the soft opt-in works, what a receipt or dispatch email may contain and how to keep records that prove consent. It's practical guidance, not legal advice.
No. You build emails in a drag-and-drop editor with reusable blocks. The course also shows you how to edit a coded HTML template without breaking it, but you never write one from scratch.
No. The course is built on Klaviyo's free plan and a free Shopify development store. Free plan limits change, so the course shows you where to check them before you start.
Klaviyo is the platform the course is taught in, because it's built for online shops. Mailchimp, Brevo and MailerLite work on the same principles, and the lessons flag where menus and names differ, so whichever one your employer uses, the skills carry over.
No. The course follows a fictional houseplant shop, and you place test orders in a free Shopify development store for your flows to run on. A domain of your own is optional, and only useful for authenticating one for real. Your own list, or an employer's with permission, is welcome in the capstone.
Smaller than you think. A few hundred engaged subscribers beat a bought list of any size, and the course starts you from zero.
Yes. Pass the final assessment and you get an OBA certificate of completion that an employer can verify online. It isn't a Klaviyo, Mailchimp or HubSpot certification. The flows, the deliverability audit and the case study you build are the other half of the proof.
